Bocote

(Cordia gerascanthus)

  This richly grained tropical hardwood is very scarce and is classified as rare. Bocote is native to Central America in Colombia, Cuba, Honduras, Mexico and Nicaragua. It is also known as Canalete, Cupane, Laurel, and Mexican Rosewood. It is noted to be very heavy and hard.
